A FAITH-FILLED, PROPHETIC WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT!

Where you look is where you are headed. This is why staying focused is so important. We have to look at the goal, the prize, and the destination. In Hebrews (See chapter 11 verses 13-16), there is a beautiful scripture that talks about how those that were commended for their faith kept their eyes on the heavenly city. They knew their destination and didn’t look to the right or the left to get distracted on the journey.
Sometimes the distraction comes from when we learn. I know that’s hard to comprehend. So, let me explain. One aspect of life is growing. If we aren’t growing, we’re dying. We are designed by God to keep getting better and better, growing in our faith walk, experience, and our relationship with Him.
However, as good and wonderful as this is, the enemy can use this growth process to condemn us. Even though you didn’t know something in your past and you did the best with the knowledge you had at the time, the enemy will say words of condemnation to you like: “You should have known better and now that you know, don’t you feel bad for the results in your past. You made poor decisions that caused yourself and everyone else harm.”
One thing I know is that the enemy condemns. The Holy Spirit constructs. He will provide you constructive instruction, not negative condemnation. Constructive instruction lifts us higher whereas condemnation pulls us lower.
Another aspect of constructive instruction is that it points to the future. It looks forward. It gives hope. It builds our faith. Condemnation partners with fear and looks backward. It’s focus is angled down.
As we walk through the situations in life, we don’t always do the right thing. No one has ever done everything right and perfect except for Jesus. The most amazing thing is that when God looks at us, now that Jesus has won us the victory, He doesn’t see us in our failures. He doesn’t see us through eyes of condemnation. God looks at us with His eyes of Love and Grace and Mercy and all He sees is Jesus. Perfect Jesus. Beautiful Jesus. There is no condemnation from the Father of Love. He sees us just as He sees Jesus, His beloved and His righteousness.
We could never do that ourselves. There is no use trying. But, because of Jesus’ perfect sacrifice and defeat of the enemy, we are now the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. We have been made right and can now stand before God with correct posture, not slouching, not slumped, but tall and confident.
So, learn from the wisdom of God. Make changes in your life to what was wrong in the past. Grow. Mature. Like a sunflower that follows the sun, we should be growing in the light, following The Son. Bloom in life showing your capacity to grow. But, never be condemned by what growth sometimes requires – a recognition of something that was wrong that needs corrected. If you allow condemnation, your growth will be stunted and if you allow it for too long, the pull of death will be evident.
Step into the light of Jesus, the bright shining Son. Follow Him. Learn, change, adapt, redo, and ultimately grow into the beautiful creation and precious life God designed for you. Don’t let fear and condemnation turn your head backwards. Keep your eyes on the prize and let your faith look forward. Based On Faith.
