A FAITH-FILLED, PROPHETIC WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT!

Isaiah 24: 14-15 TPT:
The remnant lifts up its voice with a joyful shout. From the west they praise the majesty of the Lord Yahweh, and in the east they give glory to the Lord God! The coastlands magnify the name of Yahweh, the lord God of Israel!
One of the things that I have that my granny made for me is a quilt. Even though I know that she is with Jesus, I miss her. I think about memories from my childhood, how she would give each grandchild a stick of gum, how she wasn’t wasteful, and how she laughed. She saved things that other people would throw away, partly from living through the great depression and partly from being the mother of nine children. She knew how to grow her own food, preserve food she had grown, and save what may come in handy for a rainy day.
She had bags and bags of scraps -material that was left over from something else she had made or from clothes or other items that had been worn and had holes or couldn’t be used anymore. She used to make quilts from these pieces of left-overs. They are called remnants.
If you have ever gone to a fabric store, you know that you can buy remnants. These are the left-overs on the bolts of fabric that aren’t quite enough to make something people think is useful. Yet, like my granny, her bags of what others would discard and throw away or disregard as not being useful enough, were sewn together to create something that was very useful, purposeful, and in my case, sentimental.
I can look at each square of fabric and imagine the skirt or dress that this piece of fabric was originally from. I can imagine her wearing that article of clothing while she was planting seeds, picking green beans off the vine, or peeling potatoes. This quilt, made of individual pieces of remnants, is something very powerful when sewn together into a whole.
As I was reading Isaiah 24, I was imagining the remnant that Isaiah prophesied about, all singing in unison, the song which glorifies and praises God. In the midst of a feeling of “wasting away” (verse 16), living in a world where “deceivers deceive” (verse 16), and encountering “terror, pit, and trap(s)” (verse 17), there are people who stand firm and stand grounded in their relationship with God. These people are the lone rangers going right at the fork in the road when the majority turn left. These people, as individuals, coming together collectively, are called the remnant.
We live in a world where deceivers deceive, where there are pits and traps and snares waiting like landmines ready to explode at our every step. Just look to the right and left and you will see the casualties of the enemy’s tactics. However, when it looks overwhelming, like it’s just too much, or you can’t fight any more, remember that you are part of the remnant.
You aren’t alone in a world being carried with the tide, being powerfully swept down the river with the current. Greater is He who is in you than whatever is flexing its muscles in the world. You are a child of God, bought and over-paid with the blood of Jesus. Know your identity in these days…you are a part of the remnant.
What the world, think-tanks, and the enemy considers as scraps, left-overs, and passive is just the opposite. The remnant is the most powerful organism and body on the earth. We have the victorious power of the Victorious One living inside of us.
There is power in the body of Christ joining together, to swim upstream like the salmon, against all natural odds. We have the victorious truth to use as we firmly plant each foot in front of the other. Yes, battles will come, but we can stand and keep standing when there is nothing left to do. We are the remnant.
I hear a single voice begin to sing and then another joining in. After a few moments, I hear three or four more join in. It isn’t long before the voice of every part of the remnant has begun to sing praises to the God of Heaven and earth, undiluted, unrestrained, singing with everything that is within them. The remnant choir is joined by the host of Heaven and those that surround the throne of God, singing, “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty, who Was, and Is, and Is to come!” Where two or more are gathered, He is in our midst, and this is a remnant of more and more…old timers and the newly harvested. What a time to be alive. What a time to be the remnant.
From the east, the west, the north, and the south, the remnant is gathering, being sewn together by the Holy Spirit to become something very powerful, very useful, and what a voice we have.
Sing, remnant. Sing in unison. Sing and praise the Lord with all that is in us! Based On Faith.
